    Recycling at home

Although the cost is a bit hefty, I’m so glad I got this Terracycle box. Our household has several people with chronic illness and it’s so convenient to be able to just chuck the empty medicine packets into the box. I think it will take a year to fill. The cost is my contribution towards reducing waste, until the pharmaceutical industry picks up the recycling baton. As they should.

What can we say other than you are an awesome person Denise, and we thank you immensely for paying the cost of recycling your empty medicine blister packs, so that precious resources do not end up in landfill. We will keep campaigning for the pharmaceutical industry to cover the cost of their waste!

    Getting easier

Joan - Your comment is an encouragement for folks of all ages. Blooms The Chemist chain has joined other pharmacies in providing in-shop collection points. Pharmacycle, the company expanding the collection claims that by the end of 2023 there will be over 500 collection points across Australia.

    blister pack recycling

It is excellent and takes a long time to fill even with 2 of us taking pills! and we are over 80.

I do think it is hard that we have to pay for the recycling. Surely there should be a way for this to be a national service.
