Are you paying for water?
If the first ingredient is water - the answer is yes! That means the bottle of body wash or shampoo won't last as long as the concentrated alternatives found at Biome.
Not to mention all the harsh synthetic surfactants (detergent), fragrances and perfumes you are also paying for!
Liquid soap that is truly soap (and not detergent) is made from saponified plant oils.
The light touch of wood

Is it pure marketing?
A simple ingredient like rose hip oil is packaged with fancy branding and marketed to make you think it's worth paying more.
The same goes for "pink clay face masks". At Biome, you can buy 50g of pink clay for $9.95, while the same ingredient packaged as a "face mask" can cost $40! Shea butter is another ingredient that is vastly overpiced in other stores.
