One of the largest of all the Twigg puzzles and the whimsy pieces of delicate hands, body movements and various flight birds will amaze you. This colourful and totally delightful piece of art will create joy in anybody's life. The vibrancy and array of bold and bright colours that can be found in the wings of this swallow makes this puzzle truly spectacular. Lisa Morales is a mixed media collage artist who creates intricate works of art out of hand painted papers. Sheet music, deli paper, book pages, recipes, hand written notes, maps and art papers all find their way into Lisa's work.

Brand story
Twigg puzzles are the creation of a Sunshine Coast, Queensland family who aim to design puzzles that are unique, creative, beautiful and delight you every time. The unusual shaped puzzle pieces are all designed and hand drawn in by their father, Dave himself. We try to theme the “whimsy” pieces to the theme of the puzzle from animals to characters or geometric shapes.

    Charming puzzle

It was fascinating to complete this non standard puzzle with my niece. The pieces do not follow your normal conventions of locking in on every side but breaking this convention enables some very charming creativity with the puzzle shapes. It was challenging for my young niece (7 years old) but she did just fine with an adult making progress alongside her.

I loved the art work itself and I can see that a significant amount of though went into cutting the puzzle pieces themselves. I would love to have explained some of the symbology in the puzzle but I didn't have enough knowledge to do so. Some explanation with the puzzle or on the puzzle website for people like me, who have no connection with Queensland where the art was from, would be a wonderful additional layer to the experience.

The actual puzzle quality was quite good with no cardboard in sight. Just laminated wood pieces.
