Frequently Asked Questions

Is a mesh exfoliating towel hygienic to use?
Yes. Sasawashi fibres are naturally antibacterial and deodorising, and the mesh design dries quickly between uses. This helps reduce moisture build-up that can lead to bacteria and mould, making it more hygienic than traditional loofahs or thick washcloths.

How often should I use a mesh exfoliating body towel?
For most people, this gentle mesh towel is suitable for daily use. If you have very sensitive skin, start 2–3 times per week and increase as your skin adjusts.

Is this exfoliating towel good for sensitive skin?
Yes — the mesh weave offers a softer exfoliation compared to firmer scrub towels. It’s ideal for sensitive or easily irritated skin while still removing dead skin and improving smoothness.

How do I clean my exfoliating shower towel?
Rinse thoroughly after each use, squeeze out excess water, and hang to dry. For deeper cleaning, machine wash regularly or hand wash in warm water and allow to fully dry.

Is the Sasawashi mesh towel plastic-free?
Yes. It’s made from natural plant-based Sasawashi fibres and contains no plastic, making it a sustainable alternative to synthetic loofahs and shower scrubbers.

How long does a Sasawashi exfoliating towel last?
With regular rinsing and occasional washing, most customers find their towel lasts many months to over a year, making it a durable and low-waste bathroom essential.

Ingredients

30% Washi paper/Kumazasa fibres, 70% Cotton

SASAWASHI fabric is made by blending Kumazasa fibres; grown in the cool highlands of Japan, with Washi paper. Washi is strong, durable and water-resistant used in traditional Shoji sliding doors keeping homes cool in summer and warm in winter. A sheet of these blended fibres is then slit into long strings of yarn, twisted together to machine weave or knit SASAWASHI yarn and fabric.
