you are making a difference:

  • Using multi-purpose and reusable food storage products greatly reduces resouce consumption and throw-away waste.
  • Agreena also provides an end of life solution to recycle the silicone.

* While Agreena silicone wraps can withstand temperatures up to 220°C, Biome does not recommend using silicone products for baking at high temperatures or microwaving.  We believe that there is not sufficient evidence of the safety of silicone when heated, and it also depends on the quality of the silicone, for which there is no certification scheme.

  • Designed in the Yarra Valley, Victoria, Australia.
  • Washable, reusable, durable and long lasting. Can be used over and over again for years and years!
  • Seals bowls airtight. Also sticks to itself for wrapping items. Keeps food fresher for longer.
  • Freezer safe. Can be used in the oven and microwave *(see above).
  • Contains no BPA, PVC or lead.
  • Caution: sharp edges may cause punctures or tears in silicone.
  • Some foods may leave a stain from contact.
  • Remove backing sheet and wash before use.

end of life:

As silicone is not able to be recycled through household recycling bins, Agreena has partnered with an independent recycling facility so that unusable wraps can made into other ruberised products. At the end of its useful life, Agreena wraps can be returned to any Biome store or posted back to us.

Replaces cling wrap, al foil and baking paper!

I absolutely love these!! Replaces all single use food wraps and baking papers, and as a result have reduced my rubbish and saved me money! A little tricky to clean at first however gets easier and easier with time. Tip: keep the plastic sheets they come with and store them on the sheets and roll them up and put in the cupboard.

Good for use when reheating food.

A lot of the other food covers, such as beeswax wraps, you can't use when reheating food, so being able to use these in the microwave is fantastic. I don't use them to cover anything liquid though as they are not airtight.

Food wraps

I just realised coming on here to do this review I only received the the 2 large wraps in my order. The rating I have given reflects the ease of use of this product. I like this wrap as an alternative to cling wrap and also have beeswax wraps, but usually use glass containers to store food, so I use these only occasionally. The issue with this wrap is washing it and storing it as it sticks to itself very easily. I chose to store mine back on the packaging, which is a plastic sheet. To wash I use the bench to lay it out flat and wash both sides thoroughly but rinsing is difficult as it starts sticking to itself again. I stretch it over other items to dry it or stick it over the drying rack prongs making sure it can dry completely. When dry sticking back on the plastic sheet has to be done carefully so as to not get and fluff or fibres or cat hair on it, it only needs to be mostly flat but not perfect so when I roll it up it is entirely inside the sheet, which I put a elastic around to keep closed and lie flat so it can't get dirt/dust inside. I have gotten used to cleaning it so it is not so much of a hassle as it may seem. I did however cut one of the 2 I received in half. If I received the smaller ones I may not have done this, but I did it because I often just needed half the size of the large wrap for most uses and also made using it and washing up easier. I have yet to explore all the uses for this product. I would say give these a try if you feel the need the have some kind of cling wrap alternative and finding it difficult to transition to a point where you don't use it. If you don't like the idea of beeswax wraps these are definitely a more versatile product than some other things I have purchased and if I didnt have beeswax wraps or fabric sandwich wraps I would probably use these more often. Would just have to be diligent with cleaning so that its ready for the next day so would depend on how lazy you are with that kind of thing.
