Brand story
OmMade was launched in Adelaide SA in 2013 by Tina Walsh who developed her range to cure her own skin issues. Tina suffered severe acne between her mid-twenties and mid-thirties and tried every acne cream and product she could find. This led Tina to formulate her OmMade natural range for sensitive and problematic skin. Where possible, Tina sources local ingredients not only to reduce miles, but also to support her local community. None of the products use water in the formulations which means you use less and gives a long shelf life without the need for preservatives. Driving her business is the philosophy of "If you can't eat it, don't put it on your skin."

    EXCELLENT FLOSS

I love this floss. It was the first one without mints or charcoal added to it that I could find. My goal was to find a floss made of a material I was comfortable exposing my body to everyday. I am totally at ease with the fibers OmMade chose to make this floss.

My first round of floss from OmMade did break quite a bit. What I figured out is if I double it it strengthened it, thus if one strand breaks the other usually does not. I also try to floss while resting so I am not forcing it against sharp corners of teeth in a hurry. THANK YOU FOR CREATING THIS FLOSS!!!

    You get use to it

Its not as thin as usual floss, but you learn how to use it with practice. Its a good trade off from plastic.

    Great floss

I really like this floss, I’m surprised by some of the poor reviews. I love the plastic free container (I’ve dropped the glass versions before). I find the floss thickness just right for my teeth, and haven’t had any instances of the floss breaking off. Love that it’s home compostable.

    Breaks easily

I erroneously bought the floss with the container and not just the refill. I think it's the sharp edges of the opening that make the floss break. I've been using the refill in an old Colgate container and works just fine - if a little thick.

Algae is a known accumulator of heavy metals, and until OmMade can prove that the floss is free of heavy metals I won't be composting it. I have been in touch with the company and they currently don't test for toxicity.

But the floss is great if you don't use the original container and have some space between your teeth.

    Safe natural travel container

I bought the floss for the floss travel container and I'm not disappointed. However, the floss is thicker than most, breaks much more easily, and sometimes small fragments get caught in between my teeth.
