I have been passionate about caring for the environment for as long as I can remember, and more recently have been getting into gardening too. I started my Instagram page without really knowing how to use the platform, but keen to share how I was trying to make eco-conscious choices and sustainable swaps. It has been an incredible way to connect with a like-minded community. I am not perfectly zero-waste and not able to do “all the things” sustainably, but I believe in progress over perfection and that small changes can make a difference.
I don’t like seeing things go to waste, so I try to be mindful about my consumption. I am always on the hunt for low waste options, as well as looking for ways to recycle those “hard to recycle” things. I have loved shopping at Biome for years now, as a place to find low waste products that perform the same or better than their wasteful alternatives. I like making a difference with my dollar and supporting brands that have our precious planet in mind.
I am passionate about reducing food waste and composting and I’ve seen the difference it has made to how much waste my family creates each week, getting food scraps out of the waste stream and appreciating them as a valuable resource. I am pleased to have created my own closed loop system where my worm farm outputs and home-made compost are used to grow veggies in my garden and it gives me a tangible way to help the environment. It truly is my happy place and helps me slow down from the Mum/work/life juggle.
