If you've visited a trendy cafe or restaurant recently, you may have noticed a common theme in the lighting. Exposed filament bulbs, which provide a warm, vintage glow, are popping up all over the hospitality and retail scene and many people are now looking at how this trend can be incorporated into the home. These carbon-filament light bulbs are the original bulb invented by Thomas Edison in the late 1800s and unfortunately, the resurgence in their popularity is creating massive energy wastage. This old technology is incredibly inefficient, using between 5-10 times more energy than more modern forms of lighting such as LED or compact fluorescents.
Incandescent light bulbs along with any bulbs that have an efficiency level of less than 15 lumens per watt (lm/W) are now banned in many countries, including Australia, but a loophole in the law allows them to be sold as "decorative lighting."
Luckily, our new Vintage LED bulbs can help you achieve that authentic style and attractive warm light without the massive power consumption. While they are more expensive than a Compact Fluorescent (CFL) and some other LEDs, Vintage LED bulbs are
Highly energy efficient & have a low running cost
Dimmable
Create a warm light rather than the blue light of most LEDs and the greenish light of Compact Fluorescents (CFL).
Very low heat, making them safer for children
Long bulb life
Two year warranty if the bulb fails in any way
Simply screws into any standard light bulb fitting.
We stock a range of bulbs with varying fittings, wattage and finishings.
Customise your Vintage LED bulb to suit:
Edison fitting or a Bayonet fitting
