DIY Herbal Conditioning Hair Spritz

Conditioning your hair with apple cider vinegar after washing with a natural shampoo or shampoo bar adds shine, brightens the natural colour, leaves hair soft and easy to comb, removes soap build up, and helps combat dandruff and eczema. It's also simple, natural, and toxin and palm oil free, which is even better. Many find that it doesn't have the most pleasant of smells though! That is where our DIY natural conditioner hair spritz is special. By infusing apple cider vinegar with dried flowers or herbs and adding certain essential oils you get all the benefits of apple cider vinegar and lots more because of the dried flowers, herbs and essential oils, plus a conditioner that doesn't smell vinegary at all. In fact we think it smells really, really good! The type of dried flowers, herbs and essential oils you choose will depend on whether you have dark or light hair. Lemon essential oil

Dark Hair Dried lavender buds

• Antibacterial, antifungal, antiseptic, anti-inflammatory
• Ideal for all hair types

Lavender essential oil

• Promotes hair growth
• Prevents hair loss
• Ideal for people with mixed type of scalp (oily in parts, dry in others)
• Antiseptic and antimicrobial, and ideal for controlling dandruff
• When massaged into the scalp, encourages blood circulation

Dried rosemary leaf

• Promotes hair growth
• Strengthens hair
• Ideal for scalp conditions

Rosemary essential oil

• Combats premature greying
• Promotes hair growth
• Strengthens hair
• Ideal for those with oily hair
• When massaged into the scalp, encourages blood circulation

Ingredients

• Small handful of dried chamomile or calendula flowers for light hair, or dried lavender flowers or rosemary for darker hair
• 100ml apple cider vinegar
• 50ml purified or distilled water
• 12 drops lemon essential oil for light hair, or rosemary or lavender essential oil for dark hair

Method

1. Add your dried lavender buds or rosemary to the apple cider vinegar. Leave to infuse overnight or preferably for a few days, ensuring they are completely submerged. Stir or shake every so often.
2. Once infused strain into a glass jar using a garni bag, nut milk bag or muslin cloth. Repeat if necessary to ensure all small flower particles are removed.
3. Add essential oils and distilled water to the infused apple cider vinegar.
4. Carefully pour into a 100ml glass bottle with atomiser

How to Use

Shampoo your hair naturally, using a shampoo bar or our natural DIY shampoo paste. Rinse thoroughly. Towel dry your hair and spritz sparingly into the mid areas of your hair and one quick spritz on top. Don't use too much. Comb through from roots to tips. Let it dry naturally and style as usual. Keep out of direct sunlight and use within 3 months. Note: Natural shampoos and conditioners can take some time to have effect. Your hair may feel heavy and oily initially, but this is just the detox faze and completely normal. Please persevere! It may take up to 4 washes to see the results of happy, healthy and shiny hair.
