the brand story:

Liesl earned a degree in fashion design from FIT in New York and worked as a designer for large companies like Ralph Lauren and Tommy Hilfiger before starting Oliver + S, her original brand in 2008. Since then Liesl has launched a few other pattern collections/brands, including Straight Stitch Society for accessory patterns that are fun, quick, and easy to sew, and Liesl + Co. patterns for women’s clothing that feature all the details you expect from the very best independent patterns.

She says she used to design clothing for global fashion collections/brands, and loved her job. Then her daughter, S, was born, and she inspired her to start designing and sewing clothing for children. One thing led to another, and she found that she had a new job as a pattern designer.

"At the end of the day, I want to be known for helping people realize their creative potential and build lasting memories, one sewing project at a time. I believe that anyone can learn to sew and can make beautiful things, especially if I do my job well and give you great, easy-to-understand instructions. Our patterns are often described as a "sewing class in an envelope," and here at Liesl + Co. we take that reputation seriously." - Liesl Gibson.

    An old fashioned paper pattern

I haven’t used this yet but it looks like any traditional paper pattern to use!
