Citric Acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that stimulates collagen production and promotes regrowth. It also provides the “fizz” in this bath bomb.

Epsom Salt is a magnesium-based salt, so it works to detox and relax your muscles. It also may help in your efforts to get to sleep.

Seaweed Powder is rich in vitamins, amino acids, and minerals; its fatty acids are able to help calm irritated and dry skin. It’s a great cleanser and detoxifier too, drawing out impurities.

Green Tea has powerful anti-oxidants and anti-aging properties. It’s soothing, anti-inflammatory, and may help heal your skin.

Ginger Essential Oil soothes and calms your muscles and can improve blood circulation.

Lemon Essential Oil has a light, tangy lemon scent, its citrus smell invigorating and calming. It also helps to detoxify and can aid in getting to sleep.

Lemongrass Essential Oil can help relieve muscle pain and boost your energy levels.

    Ingredients

    Method

    1. Mix all of the dry ingredients together in a glass bowl using a whisk.
    2. Using a spoon or your hands, mix in the oil, including the essential oils, drop by drop. This must be done slowly or your mixture will start fizzing.
    3. Once the oils are mixed in, you should have a crumbly mixture that resembles damp sand, which holds together when squeezed. Be careful not to add too much liquid to get this consistency.
    4. Divide the mixture into equal portions. Take one portion into your hand and squeeze to clump mixture together.
    5. Carefully but firmly, starting pressing and rolling into a ball. This will take a little patience, but slowly you’ll start to see your ball form and hold together. Do the same with the remaining portions.
    6. Place bath bombs on top of a soft towel and let them dry overnight. It’s best to let them dry for at least another 24 hours after that, to increase their fizzy power.
    7. To store, keep them in your sealed, airtight jar.

Tip: Humidity is an enemy of bath bombs! It’s best making these in areas with low humidity or in cooler months.

For some added fun, experiment with different blends of essential oils or replace the seaweed powder with some coloured, natural clay.

    How To Use

Run a warm bath and drop one bath bomb in the water. Watch it fizz and release beautiful, relaxing aromas. Soak in the bath and enjoy!

We recommend using 1-2 times a week. This recipe makes enough for approximately four, round, 100g bath bombs.
