4 Ways to Simplify your Autumn Skin Care Routine

With autumn weather upon us, many of us are reaching for scrubs, clay masks and moisturisers to buff and nourish dry skin. An autumn skin care routine needn't be complicated though. Read on as we show you four easy ways to simplify your autumn skin care routine, with eco friendly products made from close to nature materials and ingredients. How to simplify your autumn skin care routine | Biome Eco Stores

1. Use close to nature ingredients & materials

In our opinion, to be truly ‘natural', the ingredients and materials that make up a product ought to be close to nature with little modification. The more modified these ingredients or materials are, the more likely the ingredient or materials are damaging to the environment and human health. You can read more about this here > So at Biome, we only select products that use:
  • simple, close to nature, recognisable ingredients;
  • truly natural materials that will return to the earth at the end of their life, and/or
  • packaging that can be recycled or reused.
When it comes to skin and body care to this autumn, we are loving these natural and close to nature products to cleanse and exfoliate:

Sisal back scrubber

  Use this sisal scrubber to gently lift dull, dead skin cells from your skin for a healthy glow. The long cloth design makes it ideal for getting those hard to reach places, particularly your back. It is also really useful during pre-tan preparation, as it will help cleanse and exfoliate, creating the perfect surface for a fake tan application. Made from biodegradable sisal and cotton fibre, this Acca Kappa sisal back scrubber will return to the earth at the end of its life. Find it here >

3. Opt for reusable and recyclable glass packaging

When simplifying our skin care routine we should also consider simple, non-wasteful packaging. Glass and metal skin care product packaging can be reused and recycled at the end of the product's life. By choosing products that use reusable and recyclable packaging, you reduce the amount of waste that ends up in landfill and in our environment, and support sustainable, forward thinking businesses. What do you do with your empties? Use the empty glass jar or tin to store DIY skin care products, paper clips and rubber bands, contain pens and pencils, smaller amounts of product for travel, or a store a little travel size sewing kit. What about skin care products that come in plastic tubes and bottles? Did you know you can recycle your plastic skin care and beauty products at Biome? Drop empty, cut in half and completely cleaned out skin care and beauty packaging into one of our four Brisbane stores, or post them to our online warehouse. We will send them to Terracycle for you to be recycled. Find store location details here >
