the brand story:

Amber Days is an Aboriginal owned, Melbourne-based ethical children’s wear label that is inspired by the Australian bush, desert and sea. Owned by Corina, an Aboriginal mother, nature protector, artist, designer and campaigner, the business was born out of a desire to follow her dreams and have financial freedom for herself and her daughter. Without jeopardising the importance of being a present mum, she supports women, prioritizing working with single mothers with a focus on Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander, refugee and migrant women, believing that caring for your child and paid work can co exist.  As a business, they care a lot about the environmental impact and the ethics behind the production of the clothing. They want customers to feel confident dressing their children in clothing knowing that the environment and people have not been exploited in the process. All garments are handmade in India under fairtrade conditions. They use 100% GOTS certified organic fabrics, printed using GOTS certified non-toxic dyes. They believe it’s really important to reduce their carbon footprint and minimise the impact to the environment.

sizing:

We find that the sizing runs a little on the small side. We recommend buying the next size up if your child is in between sizes. Most of the items are made so they can be worn more than one season (eg. blouses can be worn as a loose dress or a top, perfect for getting two summers out of one item).

000 is equivalent to 0-3 months, 00 for 3-6 months and 0 for 6-12 months.

care:

Cold hand wash or delicate machine wash with eco detergent. Line dry in shade.

end of life:

When a garment has reached the end of it’s life and can no longer be worn, mended, swapped, gifted, donated or upcycled, we recommend consulting your local council to find your nearest textile recycling scheme.
