Totally biodegradable, with no chemicals or synthetics used in the manufacture, they can also be mulched, given for animal fodder, or used upside down on garden beds as a mulch.
They can be washed and used again for a limited time depending on how they are used.

The leaf of the Areca palm is extensively cultivated in South India. The leaf sheath naturally dries, falls and regenerates.
The forming of the plates involves no chemicals, resins, dyes or synthetic material. It begins with the collection of the palm leaf sheaths which are pressure washed. The clean fibre is then sterilized at 180ºC through a pre-heated molding process where the product acquires its shape.
The manufacturer uses a “bio ethical business model” where simple and clean huts are erected under the palm groves for the local villagers. The people are paid cash to collect the sheaths and press the bio plates.

Standard: Normally our orders leave within 24 hours from Brisbane (Monday - Friday). Orders will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on destination. Standard Australian shipping is free on orders over $75. Shipping for orders under $75 is $9.95, or $6.95 for delivery to SE Qld postcodes 4000-4299, 4500-4549.
Express: place orders by 10am. Orders generally arrive next day if you are in the Australia Post Next Day Delivery network and subject to Australia Post fulfilling its guarantee. Only available for orders up to 4kg (excludes bulky/heavy items such as Bokashi bins, cleaning products and large size items to areas outside Brisbane unless you wish to pay the total Australia Post Express Post charge).
Click & Collect: simply choose your store pick up location at checkout and we will arrange for your order to be there within 3 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse) for free. Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.
International: Flat rate shipping from $15 for orders up to 2kg. We ship to NZ, USA, Canada, UK/Ireland, China, Europe (EU) and other countries. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas. The final cost of shipping is shown at checkout once you have added your delivery location.

It's so nice to avoid using plastic plates with lots of people over for a large gathering. These look good and are very durable too.
Got them for my daughter's 1st birthday and they looked great, so stylish!
I always have these plates on-hand because we have many spontaneous big-family gatherings. They wash easily, but best washed or rinsed not long after meals are finished. I often get several uses from these plates before composting. After about the third wash, sometimes they start to bend/ twist but they are still firm, leak proof and totally usable. They break down quite well in our large compost bin.
