When three mums from Maryland USA heard that everyday more than 20 million plastic sandwich bags were disposed of in the USA alone, they realised there was a need for change. From a discussion around a kitchen table Lunchskins and 3greenmoms were born.
The mission of these three green minded women was to to design a colorful, fresh alternative to the plastic sandwich bag. The number one priority was to use a food safe fabric that would be long lasting to keep the product itself out of landfill. After much searching the 3greenmoms found a very high-quality European fabric used by patisseries and bakeries certified as food-safe. Not only had they found a food-safe fabric, but they also found one that was dishwasher safe, ideal for the busy family. After many prototypes, sleepless nights, exhausting early morning flights and late evening telephone calls, Lunchskins was born. The journey for these 3greenmoms has been an entirely family affair with husbands, kids, and friends sharing advice and support on a daily basis, to create this stylish, environmentally friendly alternative to the plastic sandwich bag. About Lunchskins- Made from US and Europe certified food-safe cotton fabric from Germany (commonly used in bakeries and patisseries). Fabric is coated with a polyurethane liner tested by an independent lab to meet the requirements of food safety.
