Ginger, Lemon & Honey Tea

This is a fantastic tea to help clear the sinuses and soothe scratchy throats. Grate a 2cm piece of fresh ginger root, place in a jug and pour 1 cup of boiling water over it. Let it steep for 3 minutes. In a large mug, add 1 tablespoon of freshly squeezed lemon juice and 1 tablespoon of honey. Strain the ginger tea into the mug and stir to dissolve the honey. Adjust taste to suit. Why not try adding some Bee One Third Neighbourhood Honey into your tea, which is produced and harvested from rooftop beehives in Brisbane's inner-city. Golden Milk

Another wonderfully warming winter drink to try with your Bee One Third Neighbourhood Honey is golden milk. Allow the powerful anti-oxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of turmeric get to work to fight colds, congestion, headaches and sore throats. Place 1 cup of milk in a saucepan over medium heat. Add ½ teaspoon each of dried turmeric and dried ginger (or 1cm piece each of fresh), a sprinkle of black pepper and honey to taste. Bring to the boil and allow to simmer for a few minutes. If you have used fresh turmeric and ginger, strain into a cup and serve warm.

Masala Chai

There are many versions of this Indian tea but we just love the taste and aroma of this one. In a saucepan on medium heat, add half a cup of water, half a cup of milk, 1 teaspoon of loose leaf black tea, 3 slightly bruised cardamom pods, half a star anise, 2 cloves, 2cm long cinnamon stick and a teaspoon of honey. Bring to the boil and simmer for 5-10 minutes, stirring occasionally. Strain and serve.

Gypsy Tea Coconut Chai

Instead of making your own chai from scratch, you could try a blend such as this very special tea from Gypsy Tea. It is delicious with milk, and perfect for warming your day. Shop Gypsy Tea Coconut Chai here >

Matcha Latte

Matcha contains a powerhouse of antioxidants, vitamins and minerals, with incredible health benefits. To make your own matcha latte, place ½ teaspoon of matcha green tea powder in a small wide bowl, and then slowly pour in ¼ cup of hot water (not boiling). Using a bamboo whisk or a teaspoon, stir to combine. Add ¼ teaspoon of honey and continue to stir. Pour 1 cup of heated milk (not boiling) into a mug, then add the matcha mixture and stir well. Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon and serve. Shop Zen matcha green tea powder here >
