Non stick cookware

Neoflam is currently investigating a report aired on Israel television that lead had been detected in the exterior coating of its pans.  Before purchasing a Neoflam pan, we wish to make you aware of the explanation by Neoflam on the action it is taking to ensure the safety of Neoflam pans.  Click here to read the letter from the Neoflam manufacturer.  You can also view the safety testing results conducted by the FDA and other authorities by clicking on the Download tab under the Midas cookware set.

Neoflam is the original healthy non stick cookware completely free from harmful chemicals and heavy metals. Neoflam's Ecolon ceramic cookware coating is made of silica. A Neoflam non stick pan is highly durable and scratch resistant and oven safe; it has all the benefits of cast iron cookware, but is lightweight – all for great value prices.

Other non stick cookware, such as Teflon, contains PTFE and other harmful chemicals (PFOA is also used in the manufacture of PTFE). What is PTFE?   PTFE was invented by DuPont and has the brand name Teflon. The non stick surface begins to deteriorate at high temperatures releasing gases that can be lethal to birds and cause flu like symptoms in people.

What is PFOA? Acoording to the Washington Post, it is a key processing agent in making nonstick and stain-resistant materials that has been linked to cancer and birth defects in animals. PFOA is used in variety of everyday products, including pizza boxes, non stick pans and microwave-popcorn bags.  In 2006, the US Environmental Protection Agency, brokered an agreement for DuPont and other companies to eliminate emissions of PFOA, but they have not agreed to stop using it.
