What the filter removes: Filter removes contaminants in three stages: 1. the ceramic membrane provides sub-micron filtration of fine particulate matter, bacteria, cysts & turbidity; 2. silver locked within prevents bacteria growth; 3. inner carbon core removes chlorine & organic compounds. | 12/02/2008 Hannah M. | The filter lasts about 6 months and it's made out of a type of chalk substance (it's not chalk obviously), you just unscrew the plastic bolt from the bottom after you've let it sit in water overnight and put the nossle on the hole of the top water filtering chamber and screw the bolt back on the other side so it becomes secure....then the filter absorbs the water and filters through a small hole in the bottom. It take a while but as long as you remember to refil every now and again you wont run out of clean water. | |

I'm very satisfied with this product, the only thing that dissapointed my slightly was that the water was about as cold as from the tap but may be due to where I positioned it (near the sun) & it's a little bit hard for me to fill my bottles to the rim as I have to tilt it to fit it under the nossle. Dear Friends from Biome, I appreciate the choice in outer appearance of your stoneware water purifier. However my main reason to buy this product is to purify my water and not in the first place it's appearance. I couldn't find any specifications about the purification method etc. on your website, which makes it a bit hard to come to a well considered choice to buy your product. Kind regards Eric de Vries |
