Each bee house is unique in design and may look a little different to the image.

Made by local Brisbane craftsman Trent Cooper. The card accompanying the bee house, features native bee illustrations by Brisbane artist Ingrid Bartkowiak.

Made in Brisbane from rescued native timber and weed bamboo cleared from around Brisbane. Native bees and wasps are the mystery helpers in our garden, most are solitary and with its many hollows and tiny nooks, this bee house is perfect for raising their young.

Position your Biome Bee House (or Bee Hotel) in a sheltered spot out of harsh rain or winds, ideally against a wall or tree.  Native bees need a stable, safe environment and prefer not to compete with ants. Consider hanging the hotel against a wall or tree to keep it still.

Australian native bees play an important role as key pollinators of native species. Native bees are more fragile than the introduced European honey bee and have suffered greatly from urban deofrestation.  But now, the Biome Bee House is here to help.

Title : Encouraging bees to our garden!
Comment : I bought an older version of this from the Biome website a couple of years ago now, that was yellow in colour. I think this version is actually much more attractive. We moved in a new build house wih a bare garden that need to be established and I wanted to do something to encourage bees into the garden besides just newly planted flowering plants.

Title : Fantastic gift!
Comment : After watching many documentaries on the colony collapse disorder with the bees in the USA and Europe, we wanted to do something in our own home for the bees, so I bought this for my husband for father's day. He REALLY loves it!
