the brand story:

TAMGA was started in 2014 while fiancées Yana and Eric were living in Dhaka, Bangladesh, working for the UN and different NGOs with an ambition to change the world. They arrived shortly after a garment factory collapsed, claiming over a thousand lives and leaving a pile of fashionable clothing brands amidst the rubble. The injustice, and their role in it as consumers of these brands, became painfully clear. They started asking questions, learning about the industry, and visiting factories. While the journey has been far from a fairy tale, TAMGA know they are on their biggest adventure yet.  From spending months on the road to building their own supply chain from scratch, they focused on one goal: proving that fashion can be a force for good. Today they’re proud to be creating vibrant and premium quality clothing from the world’s best sustainable materials, with dignified conditions for every worker throughout the process.

• To ensure that workers are treated fairly throughout the supply chain, TAMGA developed a Supplier Code of Conduct to ensure an ongoing conversation and accountability.
• “Secondary suppliers" have globally trusted and industry-leading certifications on labour and environmental standards such as the Swiss OEKO-TEX  label and the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS).
• The skills and craftsmanship found in Indonesia and Bangladesh go well beyond the sewing of a cheap t-shirt. TAMGA wants their customers to see how special ‘made in Indonesia’ , or ‘made in Bangladesh’ really is. They believe that developing countries need decent jobs to combat poverty and achieve equitable, sustainable economic growth, and they want to be a part of ensuring that the garment industry can offer them.
• EcoVero™ fabric comes from Jakarta, Indonesia and is made by Visionland, a 25-year-old company founded in Korea and focused on creating high-quality and eco-friendly fabrics using natural and low impact dyes. TAMGA started working with Visionland in 2020 after researching and visiting since 2018. They love the experience, quality, and transparency that their team brings to the table.  
• C'Ning Bagus is an ethical garment manufacturer that brings TAMGA styles to life. Run by their charming and talented friend Putu, this small team of pattern makers, cutters and sewers are well looked after and work closely with TAMGA from design to finished product.
• OEKO-Tex 100 certified low impact dye that use 70% less water than conventional synthetic dyes. Anywhere from 60-70% of dyes used in the textile industry contain suspected carcinogens, heavy metals and other toxic chemicals. TAMGA refuse to include any of these dyes or chemicals in their designs.
• Recycled paper swing tags.

care:

For all garments we recommend spot cleaning when possible. TAMGA garments can be washed on a delicate washing machine cycle with cold water. Avoid dry cleaning, skip the softeners and hang or lay flat to dry. Check the care tag on the inside of your garment for specific instructions.
