Solomon St (SOLst) proclaims they exist to make functional clothes for everyday, that bring colour into your life; they move with your body, wherever you take them.  Lauren started the label in 2017 after finishing a Graphic Design degree and developing an interest in social businesses. Her two passions formed into one and Solomon Street was born. It is her pride and joy. Having grown up with German heritage, sustainability had always been a part of her life and informed her ethos of that whatever she was to put into the world would have to only improve it. 

All SOLst fabric is all produced sustainably and ethically. SOLst exclusively use natural fibres, and synthetics (only where necessary) that fit into a circular economy; an economic model with no waste, only resources. SOLst also collect their fabric offcuts and make them into scrunchies and headbands. They even donate the tiny scraps to SCR group who use them to make rags and biofuels.

• OEKO-TEX100 certified dyes which means they don't contain any chemicals that will harm the planet or people who use them.
• Fabric is printed digitally which means there is no runoff as is standard for fabric dyeing. Often this dye pollutes waterways and affects ecosystems negatively.
• Inclusive designs; Solomon St believe that their clothes are for anyone who wants to wear them.
• To reduce the amount of packaging they create, Solomon St choose not to use swing tags and instead print all necessary information on the inside of the garment.
• Solar powered production.
• GOTS certified organic cotton; grown needing less water than regular cotton, without pesticides and is soft, breathable and absorbent.
• Hemp requires very little water, and uses minimal nutrients from the soil. Hemp plant roots aerate the soil, leaving it rich for future crops. It is natures technical fabric; it is incredibly strong (up to 3x stronger than cotton!), dries super fast, doesn't pile, becomes softer after each wear, and maintains its strength for many years.

size:

Inclusive sizing; Australian Standard Sizes 6-16. XXS - 6, XS - 8, S - 10, M - 12, L - 14, XL - 16. We recommend you pick your regular t-shirt size. SOLst have worked hard to make their sizes ‘true’ to size but are always refining the fit to make sure they fit you like a glove. 

The leggings are high waisted which means if you also have a long torso, there is plenty of room to move. We believe in lengthening the useable life of products through fixing and alterations. Easily tailored for a shorter hem.

Pay most attention to your hip measurement. If you’re between sizes = size down. If you prefer a tighter fit = size down. If you prefer a comfortable fit = your standard pant size.

Stretch fabric is incredibly forgiving, so please don't be concerned if your measurements sit slightly out of the size brackets below.

Tess wears a size 8, is 170cm tall and usually wears an 8.

Washing plays a huge part in the environmental footprint of your clothes. Wash inside out in your SOLst wash bag to avoid friction and damage from the washing machine. Preferably also use a Guppyfriend wash bag if you have one. Line dry. No iron, bleach, spin dry or softener. We recommend following the washing recipe you'll find on the back of your SOLst wash bag!

end of life:

When an item has reached the end of its life and can no longer be worn, mended, swapped, gifted, donated or upcycled, we recommend consulting your local council to find your nearest textile recycling scheme.  

All packaging is compostable or re-useable.
