'That Red House' certified organic Soapberries are the natural alternative to traditional fabric softeners and laundry detergents. Can also be used as a concentrated all purpose liquid soap. Harvested from the Sapindus Mukorossi tree, the shell contains high levels of 'saponin' that create suds in your machine. 1kg = approx. 365 wash loads.

  • The shell is exceptionally high in 'saponin' which is nature's soap. This saponin content reduces the surface tension of the water so it will remove dirt and leave fabrics, soft and clean.

Intructions for use:

  • Place the equivalent of five whole shells in the small cotton bag provided.
  • Add bag to normal washload and remove when finished. 
  • Use warmer water for heavily soiled loads (40-60 degrees).
  • Re-use the same shells for approx. four more loads.
  • When finished, shells are thin and brittle, at which point they can be added to your compost to break down naturally.
  • You can also make a multi-purpose liquid by boiling the berries for 15 minutes, and use the liquid for anything, from shampoo to a cleaner.

Standard: Normally our orders leave within 24 hours from Brisbane (Monday - Friday). Orders will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on destination. Standard Australian shipping is free on orders over $75. Shipping for orders under $75 is $9.95, or $6.95 for delivery to SE Qld postcodes 4000-4299, 4500-4549.

Express: place orders by 10am. Orders generally arrive next day if you are in the Australia Post Next Day Delivery network and subject to Australia Post fulfilling its guarantee. Only available for orders up to 4kg (excludes bulky/heavy items such as Bokashi bins, cleaning products and large size items to areas outside Brisbane unless you wish to pay the total Australia Post Express Post charge).

Click & Collect: simply choose your store pick up location at checkout and we will arrange for your order to be there within 3 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse) for free. Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.

International: Flat rate shipping from $15 for orders up to 2kg. We ship to NZ, USA, Canada, UK/Ireland, China, Europe (EU) and other countries. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas. Such a versatile product, I use them in my washing machine (5 or 6 in a calico pouch) composting them after 5 or 6 washes, I make a soapberry detergent base , awesome product

I really wanted these to work but they just didn't!

This product didn't clean our clothes. Even after trying two washes and longer washing cycles our clothes were clearly still dirty and had the worn smell. I persevered for several weeks but had to face facts eventually and researched other products.

Gentle, Non-Toxic Solution

We've been using soap nuts for a while, mainly for the laundry. Used it for cleaning solution before as well. Versatile, gentle and natural. No smell on clothes.

Works well, lasts long

We use this product without the essential oils and our clothes smell amazing!!! This 1kg bag lasts almost a year even doing 2 loads per week. Amazing!!!

Wonderful product - Needs clearer instructions re use

I have a top loader washing machine. For me, the suggested number of berries is for a small load in my machine. When I do my largest load I need to have two (2) bags with berries in each. I, like another reviewer found that on one occasion my clothes had a 'funny smell' - rectified by rewashing with additional berries/bag. I use these berries both in warm water and in cold. Great results. Clearer instructions re number of berries, eg litre capacity per number of berries.
