ThatRedHouse Organic Soapberries or Soap Nuts are the natural alternative to traditional fabric softeners and laundry detergents. Harvested from the Sapindus Mukorossi tree, these fruits are a 100% natural way to wash your clothes. Can also be used as a concentrated all purpose liquid soap. 500g = approx. 180 washloads.

Intructions for use:

  • Place the equivalent of five whole shells in the small cotton bag provided.
  • Add bag to normal washload and remove when finished. 
  • Use warmer water for heavily soiled loads (40-60 degrees).
  • Re-use the same shells for approx. four more loads.
  • When finished, shells are thin and brittle, at which point they can be added to your compost to break down naturally.
  • You can also make a multi-purpose liquid by boiling the berries for 15 minutes, and use the liquid for anything, from shampoo to a cleaner.

45 day returns: If you are not satisfied with a product that you ordered online (*exceptions below), you are welcome to return it to us within 45 days, unused, unworn, and in a pristine saleable condition with the original labels attached, packaging and we will refund your cost of goods - you can either post back to us or return to one of our stores. Items marked 'Final Sale' can not be returned unless faulty.

Standard: Normally our orders leave within 24 hours from Brisbane (Monday - Friday). Orders will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on destination. Standard Australian shipping is free on orders over $75. Shipping for orders under $75 is $9.95, or $6.95 for delivery to SE Qld postcodes 4000-4299, 4500-4549.

Express: place orders by 10am. Orders generally arrive next day if you are in the Australia Post Next Day Delivery network and subject to Australia Post fulfilling its guarantee. Only available for orders up to 4kg (excludes bulky/heavy items such as Bokashi bins, cleaning products and large size items to areas outside Brisbane unless you wish to pay the total Australia Post Express Post charge).

Click & Collect: simply choose your store pick up location at checkout and we will arrange for your order to be there within 3 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse) for free. Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.

International: Flat rate shipping from $15 for orders up to 2kg. We ship to NZ, USA, Canada, UK/Ireland, China, Europe (EU) and other countries. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas. The final cost of shipping is shown at checkout once you have added your delivery location.

Soap berries are the best.

As someone who constantly struggles with sensitive skin issues and trying to find a detergent that doesn’t set my skin on fire, soap berries are a dream! Not only are the great for my skin, but they’re awesome for the environment. I usually add vinegar to the softener section of my washing machine and my clothes come out so clean and soft. I cannot recommend them highly enough!

Love these soapberries

I was a bit unsure but thought I’d experiment and.... Wow! These are amazing! Just put 5 berries in the supplied mini cloth bag, pop it in the washing, and it’s done. After 4-5 washes we put the shells in the compost. It feels so virtuous and simple.
We have two boys who have continually dirty / smelly clothes and this cleans without leaving any smell or residue. I can’t believe we didn’t make the switch years ago.

Soapberries

I love my soapberries! They clean so well, nothing ever smells after use. They don't seem to get stains out quite as well, but they can be removed in other ways. They last forever as well, and I love that you can then just add them to the compost after use.

Fan of Soapberries

I love these Soapberries! I would recommend a few drops of essential oil on to the little cotton bag though before adding it to the wash, leaving laundry is smelling like fresh laundry.
