JuJu Menstrual Cup Model 3 - Clear. A convenient, economical and eco-friendly alternative to disposable menstrual products. A menstrual cup is used like a tampon, but collects rather than absorbs menstrual flow. A cup holds three times more fluid than tampons and pads, so it can generally be worn for twice as long as you would wear a tampon or pad for. Model 3 is designed specifically for a high cervix or long vaginal canal.

you are making a difference:

  • With proper care, this reusable product will last for many years, meaning substantially less waste ending up in landfill. More than 660 million disposable feminine products end up in landfill every year in Australia alone, plus the packaging associated with disposables. They take a considerable amount of time to biodegrade and can also end up in our waterways, oceans and beaches.
  • If during your period you use five disposable products a day for five days, this equates to 300 disposable pads or tampons a year and over 10,000 in your lifetime. In one year you will spend an average of AU$90, or AU$3,300 in a lifetime, on these disposable products. With proper care, JuJu will last many years and save you hundreds of dollars.
  • In your lifetime, you would normally use over 10,000 disposable products. By using JuJu, you will save these products from going into our landfills and polluting our waterways.
  • Australian made and owned.

  • No strings, no wings and no leaks.
  • Can be worn 2-3 times longer than a pad or tampon.
  • Doesn't contain any harmful substances such as chlorine, fragrances or BPA.
  • Perfect for people with an active lifestyle who enjoy sports such as running, swimming and yoga.
  • Hypoallergenic and suitable for people with sensitive skin, dermatitis and latex allergies.
  • Does not contain any absorption agents so it doesn't cause vaginal dryness.
  • 22ml capacity.
  • Can be worn overnight.
  • Easy to clean and disinfect.
  • Comes with a satin carry pouch.
  • Made in Australia from medical grade silicone.

  • It normally takes several menstrual cycles to learn to use the cup, but some women get the hang of it right from the start. Please read the comprehensive instructions sent with the cup carefully.
  • Sterilise the cup in a large amount of water according to instructions provided. The cup should be in boiling water for 3-5 minutes. Let the water come back to room temperature before removing.
  • With washed hands, fold the cup in half, and then in half again. Make sure the round side of the ‘c’ is facing up.
  • Guide the folded end into the vagina past the pubic bone and then allow to open fully.
  • To remove, break the seal by squeezing the bottom/grippy part of the cup and pull down, hold upright to avoid spilling the contents. Never pull the cup down by the tab in an open position. Make sure to always break the seal. Discard contents in the toilet.
  • Rinse the cup in cold water, then wash carefully in hot water with mild and perfume-free washing liquid or soap, and re-insert it. From time to time it is okay to wipe the cup with toilet paper.
  • Wash your JuJu cup carefully after its last use during your period and store it, properly ventilated, in its storage bag.
  • NOT to be used during post-natal bleeding due to the vagina being inflamed from childbirth.
  • You may also like to use reusable pads as a backup for heavy flow days.

While there are no hard and fast rules for selecting a size, model selection is generally based on childbearing history. Many other factors, such as anatomy, age, and pelvic floor tone may also influence your cup size selection.

The following is a guide to selecting a suitable model;

  • Model 1: Under 30 years of age and have not given birth
  • Model 2: Over 30 years of age or have given birth
  • Model 3: For a high cervix or long vaginal canal
  • Model 4: For a low cervix or short vaginal canal
The Model 3 JuJu Cup has a longer body, which makes removal easier for women with a high cervix and longer vaginal canal. If you are unable to reach your cervix or need to insert your finger past the middle bend in your finger before you can feel your cervix, you most likely have a high cervix and may like to consider the Model 3 JuJu Cup. A Model 3 is recommended for virgins and sexually active young women with a high cervix/long vaginal canal. A Model 3 is recommended for women who have good pelvic floor tone in conjunction with a high cervix.

Consult a GP prior to using this product if you;

Works really well!

So I have been using the JuJu cup now for over 2 years, and I can never go back to tampons.

The things I like about this cup: very easy to pop open and create the seal. Generally feel quite secure about no leakage unless its really full.

The things to be weary of:
The cup is meant for a high cervix - at the time of measuring myself I did not realise that my cervix becomes higher with more bloodflow, so I can only wear it once the blood starts really flowing. ( I wear period panties when the flow is not heavy enough so it doesn't bother me too much).
Also if you have a very heavy period- using 3+ super pads a day, then this one is good, BUT don't expect it to last you all day. On my heaviest days I have to change my cup about 3/4 times. Good to pair with reusable pads/ period underwear.

A worthwhile learning curve!

There is a bit of a learning curve with this one, especially because it is a bit bigger than the others, but it makes periods SUPER easy once you get the hang of it.

First of all, check your cervix location the day your period starts. That's going to give you an accurate idea of where it actually sits and if you're still reaching all the way to find it, or can't feel it, this is probably going to suit you.
Second, if you've never tried a cup before, practice in the shower before your period starts. I had never used a cup, I'm an anxious person and it is a new experience, so having somewhere you can try getting it in, popping it open, and then have a few minutes to get comfortable with it before you practice removing it, is going to make the process a bit easier. I highly recommend the punch-fold.
Third, IT IS GOING TO COME OUT. Big squat (your butt muscles will thank you), bear down (hello pelvic floor!), reach in, pinch it to release the suction, then work with your breath to slowly pull it out. I tend to put my finger closer to the top of the cup to make sure it's definitely released and work it down from there.
Finally, let it find its own place. Not every cervix sits dead centre, and mine works best at a slight angle. It does move, so if it hasn't leaked and it's been in for a while, take note of where it is when you remove it. If it leaks, it's not in the right place and you need to adjust the angle you're leaving it in. Don't be afraid to explore after you've put it in to make sure it's open and it's actually covering the cervix.
