the brand story:

Holy Nuts is a small family business established in the beautiful surroundings of Byron Bay, in New South Wales, Australia. After the founding couple's youngest daughter was diagnosed with strong food intolerances, it opened a new world to Bertrand and Lucie. As they tried some commercial "healthy" nut spreads, they didn't find the taste, texture or nutritional value they wanted. Now aware of 'hidden nasties', sugar and fats, and more cautious about the claims companies make, they wanted to eat only natural food, with no refined sugar.

Hailing from France, they were missing the stone ground nut spreads they were used to; so they started to make some small hand made spread batches for themselves. This traditional technique of stone grinding releases the natural fat of the nuts slowly and creates this unique silky texture. It is a much more time consuming process than normal processing. But it doesn't oxidise and overheat the product as most processing does. It is the best technique to create a premium spread, with more nutritional value. They felt there were surely others looking for consciously made spreads and began to sell their product.  The long adventure that led to creating Holy Nuts spreads began, sourcing  premium ingredients from within Australia, from producers sharing the same values and love for their products, with responsible and sustainable packaging. They wanted the nuts to be the star, not the sugar and to be different from most spreads on the market, which use lots of palm oil, sugar and hidden nasties. The resulting product doesn't compromise on flavour or texture and is uniquely Australian.

Holy Nuts chose a white cockatoo to represent they brand as it is one of the Australian animals which eats nuts in the wild.  Cockatoos are a symbol of freedom, change, peace and transformation. So they thought it was the perfect way to symbolise their brand and values.

use:

Store the jar in a cool, dark and dry area. Refrigeration is not recommended as it will harden the spread and reduce the flavours. We recommend closing the lid after each use and not double dipping or introducing foreign matter (eg : crumbs of bread, fingers, dirty spoon...) into the jar to maximise the shelf life.  Nut spread is a stable product which, if used properly, won't change consistency easily.
