Invented by a Brisbane dentist, The Environmental Toothbrush is a simple solution to reducing the 30 million plastic toothbrushes that are used and disposed of each year in Australia. (Please note: hard plastics that are not containers such as toys and toothbrushes can not be recycled through household recycling programs.) 

*About the bristles: The bristles are made from Nylon 6 and thus this toothbrush is not 100% plastic free nor 100% biodegradable.  For those seeking a completely plastic-free brush, the only option is animal hair bristle. It is not possible to make a bristle from 100% bamboo or plant oil (there will be some amount of petrochemical binder).  Before composting, remove the bristles and place in your bin.

  • Reduce the amount of non-biodegradable plastic entering landfills each year.  At the end of its life, the bamboo toothbrush handle will biodegrade into your garden soil or compost (first remove the bristles and place in bin).

45 day returns: If you are not satisfied with a product that you ordered online (*exceptions below), you are welcome to return it to us within 45 days, unused, unworn, and in a pristine saleable condition with the original labels attached, packaging and we will refund your cost of goods - you can either post back to us or return to one of our stores. Items marked 'Final Sale' can not be returned unless faulty.

*with the exception of skin and body care, makeup, food, underwear, earrings, and custom order items, which can not be returned for change of mind.

Standard: Normally our orders leave within 24 hours from Brisbane (Monday - Friday). Orders will arrive in 2 to 7 days depending on destination. Standard Australian shipping is free on orders over $75. Shipping for orders under $75 is $9.95, or $6.95 for delivery to SE Qld postcodes 4000-4299, 4500-4549.

Express: place orders by 10am. Orders generally arrive next day if you are in the Australia Post Next Day Delivery network and subject to Australia Post fulfilling its guarantee. Only available for orders up to 4kg (excludes bulky/heavy items such as Bokashi bins, cleaning products and large size items to areas outside Brisbane unless you wish to pay the total Australia Post Express Post charge).

Click & Collect: simply choose your store pick up location at checkout and we will arrange for your order to be there within 3 to 4 working days (1 working day for Milton warehouse) for free. Please wait until you receive an email or text to advise that your goods are ready to be collect.

International: Flat rate shipping from $15 for orders up to 2kg. We ship to NZ, USA, Canada, UK/Ireland, China, Europe (EU) and other countries. International orders are not subject to sales tax, so most prices are less 10% when purchased from overseas. The final cost of shipping is shown at checkout once you have added your delivery location.

Great brush

Very good brush, good price. I love the plastic free packaging too. The bristles are quite firm by kids brush standards, so for very young children I would recommend the charcoal brush from another brand through this site, but this is fantastic for the bit older.

My children love them

We switched to bamboo brushes recently and the children took to them really well. At age 14 months and 2.5 years they love brushing with their bamboo brushes. Makes teeth brushing so much easier now when the children race to use these brushes.
