the brand story:

This Byron Bay label began in 2013 with a purpose to inspire positive change for the planet; their mission was to create the best modern cloth nappy for young families. From manufacturers and materials, to packaging and postage, every decision is made with sustainability in mind. These nappies are beautiful, sustainable, high quality and community oriented. EcoNaps powers its space with solar & renewable energy sources and composts & recycles 99% of waste.

you are making a difference:

  • Proud partner of 1% for the Planet.
  • Take 3 for the Sea supporter.
  • Reusable nappies stop over 2500 disposable ones going to landfill, per year, per child!
  • Bamboo is a fast-growing renewable material.
  • More water is used to make one disposable nappy than in the laundering of cloth nappies.

features:

  • Kit includes: 4x hourglass bamboo boosters and 2x tri-fold night boosters.
  • Made from highly absorbent, bamboo rayon & organic cotton fleece.
  • Machine washable.
  • Designed to fit all Econaps cloth nappies and most other one-size, all-in-2, and pocket cloth nappies.
  • Come packaged in a gorgeous natural cotton bag.

How to use:

Simply layer the bamboo booster under your existing cloth nappy combination and fit to bubs as usual.

care:

Similar to tea towels or bath towels, pre-washing your cloth nappies is an important step to ensure they reach their maximum absorbency before using on bubs. We recommend you wash them between 3-5 times on a full length cycle, no hotter than 60 degrees. If short on time, you could also soak inserts overnight and then wash both inserts & covers on a warm cycle no hotter than 60 degrees.

Depending on the deposit your little one has left behind, here’s what to do with dirty nappy inserts:

  • Pee only: Saturate with cold water under the tap, and place in a dry pail.
  • Newborn poo (breastfed or bottle fed): Saturate with cold water under the tap, and place in a dry pail.
  • Solid poo: Tip solids from the nappy and into the toilet. Saturate with cold water under the tap, and place in a dry pail.

It is important to wash your dirty nappies every 1-2 days. Leaving them any longer will encourage the growth of bacteria and mould.

  • Step 1: Start by washing nappies and inserts on a warm pre-rinse cycle. This gets rid of any excess urine or soiling before the wash cycle.
  • Step 2: Follow with a warm, regular/long wash cycle, no hotter than 60 degrees. Wash with the correct amount of detergent recommended by your detergent manufacturer for the water level/load size.

Simply run a full rinse cycle, followed by a warm wash no hotter than 60 degrees, then line dry! Use a natural detergent when available.

end of life:

These fabrics should be taken to a textile recycling facility at the end of their useful life.

Made from

Bamboo rayon & organic cotton fleece.

*What is bamboo rayon?

This rayon fabric is made from cellulose taken from bamboo and transformed into fibres using synthetic chemicals, just as other rayons are made from cellulose sources such as eucalyptus wood. Once the cellulose has been spun into fibres, none of the naturally-occuring properties of bamboo remain. The characteristics of the fabric, such as hypoallergenic, breathable, and absorbent are characteristics of rayon regardless of the source of the cellulose.
