About The True Cost: This is a story about clothing. It’s about the clothes we wear, the people who make them, and the impact the industry is having on our world. The price of clothing has been decreasing for decades, while the human and environmental costs have grown dramatically. The True Cost is a groundbreaking documentary film that pulls back the curtain on the untold story and asks us to consider, who really pays the price for our clothing. Filmed in countries all over the world, from the brightest runways to the darkest slums, and featuring interviews with the world’s leading influencers including Stella McCartney, Livia Firth and Vandana Shiva, The True Cost is an unprecedented project that invites us on an eye opening journey around the world and into the lives of the many people and places behind our clothes.

Take part in Fashion Revolution week between 19 - 25 April 2021. Your voice can change everything!

Fashion Revolution Week is the time when we come together as a global community to create a better fashion industry. It centres around the anniversary of the Rana Plaza factory collapse, which killed 1,138 people and injured many more on 24 April 2013. Take action by:

Social: Posting a selfie on social media holding a Fashion Revolution poster, tag the brand you're wearing, and ask them #whomademyclothes? / #whatsinmyclothes?

Email: Writing and email to your favourite brand and ask them #whomademyclothes?

Meet the Maker Series

Meet some of the makers of the brands stocked in our slow fashion department through our Meet the Maker social series. Find out their inspiration for starting their label, their hopes and dreams for the future of sustainable fashion, and innovations they’re currently following in this space. We’ll release two interviews every week in April.

Follow our Meet the Maker series on Instagram or Facebook.
