Protecting your skin from the harsh UVA and UVB rays is so important, particularly in Australia. In fact, melanoma is the most common cancer in Australians aged 15-44 years, and two in three Australians will be diagnosed with some form of skin cancer by the time they are 70. Statistics like that should be enough to turn you off sun tanning and solariums for good!

If you love that golden glow though, Biome stocks a beautiful selection of award winning, vegan, natural and Certified Organic fake tans by Eco Tan.

How to Apply Organic Fake Tan

For the best results, it is recommended to exfoliate your skin at least 24-48 hours in advance. A through exfoliation sloughs away dead skin cells to reveal smooth, fresh skin so that the fake tan applies more evenly. But to be honest, we generally remember only a few hours before the special occasion and it still seems to work just fine!
I've had success with a gentle, light exfoliation and then applying Eco Tan Cacao Firming Mousse right away. I showered a few hours later and was very happy with nicely bronzed legs for the night. I applied another coat the next morning and with daily moisturising the resulting tan has lasted for more than a week. - Tracey, Biome Director.
An exfoliating mitt like the extreme exfoliant glove is really effective, but dry body brushing or a body scrub work well also. As well as smoother skin, there are lots of other health benefits, including improved circulation, cellulite reduction, and body brushing in particular will detoxify the lymphatic system. When you are ready to apply the fake tan, apply it to clean, dry skin, rubbing it in thoroughly and evenly using circular motions. The best way to apply to your face, hands and feet is to use product that is left on hands after applying to limbs. Allow the fake tan to dry before getting dressed or hopping into bed, and for best results, wait at least eight hours for tan to develop before showering. To maintain the life of your tan, the key is to moisturise daily.
