Where to Find Australian Grown & Produced Eucalyptus Essential Oil

Essentially Australia Australian made and produced eucalyptus essential oil

Although native to Australia and considered a quintessential Australian scent, many of the eucalyptus essential oils available for sale in Australia have been produced in China. Among the network marketing brands and those sold in supermarkets and chemists, few use eucalyptus oil grown here. In fact, of the approximately 7,000 tonnes of eucalyptus oil produced globally each year, China produces around 75% while Australia produces just 5%.

We have found some wonderful Australian grown and distilled eucalyptus oils for you from Essentially Australia, which we know you will love. In fact, these Essentially Australia eucalyptus essential oil and lemon myrtle essential oil are grown and distilled not too far away from our warehouse in Brisbane!

Essentially Australia

Essentially Australia is a small Australian business based in New South Wales that operates two unique plantations in the moist, rich, red volcanic hinterland of Byron Bay. They also support a range of passionate and committed essential oil farmers and harvesters in other parts of Australia. To produce their essential oils, leaves and branches are harvested from sustainably managed plantations, chipped and then steam distilled to extract the oil. Here is how Essentially Australia produce their pure lemon myrtle essential oil (eucalyptus essential oil is produced in a similar way).

Eucalyptus essential oil benefits and uses

Eucalyptus essential oil is known to reduce symptoms of coughs, colds and congestion. Add a few drops to a diffuser, oil burner or bath and inhale gently. It is also known to reduce inflammation, which is why you will often find it in creams and balms aimed at relieving muscle and joint pain. Eucalyptus oil has anti-microbial and antiseptic properties, hence why it is commonly used in soaps and shampoos, as well as household cleaning products. Add a few drops to your washing machine or mop bucket for a fresh scent. It also also an excellent solvent for removing sticky residue, cleaning stainless steel, removing stains like biro or texta, and removing grease marks and chewing gum.

Sustainable essential oil use

What are essential oils? Essential oils are made by steaming various parts of a plant to capture the compounds of that plant's fragrance. It takes a large amount of plant material to produce a single bottle of essential oil, so use those precious drops wisely. Understand and honour the oil's production and potency, and only choose oils from quality, ethical and sustainable manufacturers, like Essentially Australia

Health notes

Despite what you may see on social media from time to time, there is no scientific proof that essential oils, including pure eucalyptus essential oil, can kill coronavirus or prevent you from contracting Covid-19. Please follow health advice from a doctor. If you are pregnant, nursing, have a medical condition or take medication, please consult your doctor prior to use.

Keep essential oils out of reach of children. Do not ingest essential oils. Keep away from eyes and mucus membranes. There is no such thing as 'therapeutic grade essential oils'. This term was invented as an essential oil marketing ploy.
