2040 film opens in cinemas across Australia this week.   Scroll to the end to find out how you can win a double pass, plus learn how students can see the film for free this coming weekend!

Biome founder, Tracey Bailey, shares her review of the film, that is in fact more than a filmit’s a movement for good!

The era-defining documentary film 2040 left me on high of optimism about the future of our planet.  And, by the applause at the end of the film I wasn’t alone.

Director, Australian Damon Gameau (That Sugar Film), sets out to find solutions that will reset our planet’s health, drive our economies, and improve lives across the globethe only catch, they all must exist today.

Damon takes us on a journey to explore what the future could look like by the year 2040 if we simply embraced the best solutions already available to us to improve our planet and shifted them rapidly into the mainstream.

I was amazed by what he finds, the intellect of those he interviews, and carried along by the feel-good sound track and the visual effects that show us how these solutions could regenerate the world for future generations.

There is no doom and gloom about the dire circumstances facing our planet.  Damon does not want to bog us down in the inertia of feeling overwhelmed about the problems.  He wants to inspire us to be hopeful and upbeat about how each of us can help tackle climate change and make a genuine difference.

But Damon has not only made the film, he has taken a clever, broader approach.  Instead of simply leaving you at the end on a high, he makes sure that you have a pathway to to convert your hopefulness into a personalised action plan through his website What’s Your 2040?, and an accompanying handbook 2040: A Handbook for the Regeneration.

Visit the website What’s Your 2040? to find out how you can join the Regeneration!

The book is an engaging and informative read also, and even includes recipes. I love the practical actions summarised in the pull out household checklist.  Super simple actions we can all take.  2040 book available online at Biome here and in our stores this week.
