Native Solitary Bees Bee Hotel - Small. Made in Brisbane, Bee Hotels aim to increase pollination activity in your garden by boosting local native Solitary bee populations. Solitary bees do not produce honey, but are essential for pollinating our native flora. The bee house works as an artificial nest where the bees will come and deposit pollen/nectar and eggs before sealing off the entrance with either leaf, resin or clay/mud.

Solitary Bees Official Stockist

There are over 1650 known species of Native Bees in Australia and most are Solitary Bees. Solitary bees play a vital role in pollinating our native flora and are also increasingly being valued as a pollinator for agricultural crops.
Most bees, including huge carpenter bees, resin bees and leaf cutter bees, of which there are many species, are solitary in the sense that every female is fertile, and typically inhabits a nest she constructs herself. There is no division of labor so these nests lack queens and worker bees for these species.

The centre block has also been sealed on the outside to extend its life outdoors, but the drilled holes for the bees make no contact with this at all.
