It all started with a simple question: “What about a for-profit company based in Honduras that would create a positive social impact through its business?”

Tegu's founders—brothers Chris and Will Haughey—wanted to help a country and its people, and they quickly discovered that Honduras could be home to beautiful, sustainably-harvested tropical hardwoods.

Tegu has reinvented the wooden block with magnets and beautiful Honduran hardwoods to push and pull your imagination in ways never before possible.

Honduran cooperatives hand pick each mature tree for use. Certied by the Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) and their process facilitates the forest’s natural regeneration cycle.
Partners with local communities to support reforestation, donating a portion of revenue to replanting efforts when Tegu blocks are sold - and to plant more trees than are used in production.

The name Tegu is derived from Tegucigalpa,* the capital city of Honduras, where Tegu blocks are made in its own factory.
