• Say goodbye to lunch waste with new Goodbyn (+ chance to win!)

    by  • November 19, 2012 • eco kids, reusables, staff picks • 58 Comments

We love seeing what this small US company comes up with, and the latest offerings from Goodbyn are no exception.  If you are after easy and fun lunch container solutions, read on.

Above: The new Goodbyn mix and match container range available as a set or separately.

Goodbyn is a small business from Naperville, Illinois.  After the popularity of their little lunchbox known as the Bynto (basically fun, modern, compartmentalised bento boxes sealed with just one lid), and listening to what their customers want, they have again reinvented their range.

The new “Goodbyn Ecosystem” consists of bright, insulated lunch bag choices, with mix and matchable containers made in sizes perfect for salads or sandwiches, small meals, snacks or dips.  This has increased flexibility for little (and large) lunches while still maintaining the fun modern look Goodbyn are known for.

Above: Goodbyn insulated lunch bags in green monsterblue beast, and pink bird (also available in blue words).

The new Goodbyn containers (available separately or as mix and match sets here) fit inside these bags, contain no BPA, phthalates or lead.  They are dishwasher-safe and made to last, and when it’s time for a new set, Goodbyn containers are 100 percent recyclable.  Ultimately, they ensure that you can do away with wasteful plastic bags or wrap day to day.

See the full Goodbyn range which includes water bottles and their trademark dishwasher-safe sticker sets.

We are giving away a Goodbyn pack to one lucky blog follower (containing 1 x insulated lunch bag, 1 x mix & match set, 1 x bottle, 1 x sticker sheet, valued at $73.85)*.

The Blue Monster – Working in an office if I don’t pack my own lunch I end up spending a fortune on lunch each day. Travelling an hour each day into work I need something that’s insulated and wont leak everywhere. It’s hard to find containers that are as versatile as my lunch. I’d love to try them, they look like something that I would use everyday.

I love the Pink Bird – so very cute. This is something my daughter & I could both use. It’s fabulous that it’s insulated & looks to be a very useful size. I always appreciate re-usable & Goodbyn have obviously taken this idea & created user friendly products.

      I follow.

I would love to win a blue beast! My kids love their Goodbyn lunchboxes, but I have a preppie starting next year, so we need one for him! They’re so helpful for the kids doing their own lunches – they know what goes where and how to make sure they have a well-balanced lunch. and they’re so simple to clean! love it!

The Pink Bird- I’d love to be able to give this to my little niece. She doesn’t have anything environmentally friendly or safe for her health, and she’d love to have her very own pink pack!

      Green Monster!
I much prefer dishwasher-safe containers to wrapping lunches any day. No fiddling around with cling film and plastic bags. Much more convenient and sooo much better for the environment.
Goodbyn products have made lunchtimes fun and earth friendly! :)

I would love to win the Pink Bird insulated lunch bag from Goodbyn because my littlest loves everything to be pink! And we’d love to use these lunch bags and containers because I think it would help my little one to organise her own lunch.

My daughter isn’t a very girlie girl but she would love the pink bird. I have ben dying to try the Goodbyn lunch boxes for ages because they look like so much FUN! With 3 lunches to pack every day, it would be nice to have something fun to look forward to, and inspire me to be more healthy and creative with my children’s food!

The green monster would be perfect for my 3 year old, who is off to kindy in the new year. It will keep everything super cool and help me to avoid any of the ridiculous packaging associated with packed lunches. Just lovely fresh “real” food! xK

I’d love to win the blue words lunch bag. I love the idea that all the containers are recyclable! Also, the mix and match would be great for packing versatile lunches for work! No more just boring sandwiches, but more opportunities for salads with dressing or veggies and dips!

Green Monster, being on a special diet for my health,I need to pack salads and juices,I can’t risk buying take – away, so this is ideal for me. With insulation will keep everything fresh and I don’t have to worry about spoilage or spillage. First time I have heard of Goodbyn so excited to learn about these great products.

Green is my favourite. The best thing about Goodbyn is that they come back empty! Same food but looks more attractive. So cuts down on waste in all sorts of ways.

Love the blue beast + I love that it is dishwasher safe. (with the current lunch box it’s usually a quick hand wash in the morning when I realise it hasn’t been washed from the night before as it couldn’t be added to the dishwasher)

    16. November 19, 2012 at 8:57 pm

I’d love to win Blue Words. I think I’d love Goodbyn products because I’m returning to Uni next year and could really use a decent lunchbox so I don’t keep buying chips from the cafe! Plus I LOVE how organised they are :D They would go in my messenger bag perfectly.

I’d be happy with any of the lunch bags for my kids (and me if I’m allowed!). Getting my kids into understanding and respecting the need to avoid disposable things in their lives, and embrace funky reusable products … Well, I’d be so chuffed!

Green monster for my grandsons or pink birdie for my granddaughter .. Either way they look great. So practical and stylish too. My little grandies have food intolerance issues and these wonderful Goodbyn lunch boxes would help their mum to easily pack their special foods whilst avoiding wrapping rubbish. Just perfect.

    20. November 20, 2012 at 9:43 am

The green monster would be a welcome addition to our school lunchbox system! Master 5 struggles to cope with a “normal” lunch and the bento style of grazing works wonders. He just needs a suitable (and bright) system to start with! Less waste and a very happy little man = WIN!!

I would love the pink bird for my 5yr old daughter. She is such a good girl and I would love to reward her for good behavior. There is little money for Xmas gifts this year as my husband resigned from his job due to depression. So we’re down to my part time income to support us. This green gift would certainly lift her spirits and give me a way to thank her for all the wonderful things she does.

the green monster would be a hit in our house, hard to go past a great useful product that will help us reduce wasteful lunch packaging and looks fantastic too!

I have the blue eared lunch box, so obviously I’d have to get the blue cover!

I love the lunch box. The compartments are so deep, which means plenty of goodness can be packed in.

I only recently ordered my first goodbyn products from you to try and we are total converts now. My girls had loads of fun decorating them with their stickers and I find them so convenient.
So we’d love to win the new version to try. We’d like the pink bird one please :)

I’d love green monster! Riding to and from uni and work I find is not always so great for my lunch. It would be just wonderful to have an insulated, reusable, and safe way to make sure I can always eat healthy, home made lunch! Thank you!

The pink bird would go perfectly with my daughter’s much-loved pink Goodbyn bynton box. I like the flexibility of being able to pack smaller food containers depending on what she is taking for lunch. And I love the idea of being able to co-ordinate the entire spread – satisfying both the taste and visual senses… Good bread, Good meat, Goodbyn, let’s eat!

I love that Goodbyn products are reusable and reduce waste packaging, have lots of mix and match options, can be cleaned in the dishwasher and look awesome too! The bags are gorgeous, I think I’d have to choose the Green Monster for my little eating machine! Many thanks!

It’s tooooo hard to decide which one they are all sooo cute. But I think the blue beast might just win. What a terrific idea to have different sizes and different containers to stop the kids whinging that they have to share, just open it up while your out and about and they can have their choice of a nice cold healthy snack. or the lucky one could take it to school for lunches

We would LOVE a green monster – we are huge fan’s of the large bento box as my son is a big eater and most lunch boxes don’t have enough space….LOVE the look of this new style and think it is a must for the hot sumer months for my son starting prep. ;)

My four year old loves taking his orange bento box to kindy, and I love it because it keeps everything together. It would be great to have the bag and mix n match set for when he starts preschool, and pass the bento box down to his younger brother.

The green monster bag would definitely be right down my little monsters alley! He is off to school next year and he would think that he was the man with this fantastic lunch bag. The Goodbyn containers would be great for all his little snacks. As his school is waste free, this would enable us to encourage and support this ethos.

      November 21, 2012 at 10:20 am

Blue words would definitely be the one for me. Would love a more practical & lighter way to pack lunch & snacks (currently using pyrex glass storage dishes and they can be quite cumbersome). A matching set to house all my goodies securely each day would be so grand :-)

I’m a follower by email. I love the Pink Birds! I haven’t used Goodbyn products before, but I love reusable products for food storage, especially ones that are free from all nasties, so I think I’d love Goodbyn!

Green Monster bag please! This product ticks all of the boxes for me. I try my best to minimise waste in packed lunches for the kids but sometimes all the containers I need don’t fit in the lunch bag. This would make the job so much easier.

      November 21, 2012 at 1:29 pm

Sitting on my knee right now, is a little boy who likes the green monster growl.
Just behind me is a girl about to start school, to join her big brother and learn the plastic wrap free rule.
The original Byto boxes are great but there is sometimes a day when teachers say, separate containers for lunch and play lunch on the excursion today.
Green can be shared for children 1 through to 4 and even when Mum or Dad walk out the door.

Blue Words Please. My son starts kindy next year and it would be wonderful to start of his schooling years eco friendly and minimising the use of wrapping. Also it makes it so much more easier to store healthy well balanced nutritional food to get him through the day. Love love love.

I would choose the Blue Beast Goodbyn lunch bag for my hungry little man. This would be fantastic to take to ‘big’ school (year one) as this is an insulated bag so will keep his food nice and cool (their bags are outside the classroom) and comes with containers that are designed to fit the lunch bag too – no more squeezing things into little spaces – hooray!

I love too role model recycling to the children I teach and these look great.I have recently been diagnosed with health issues requiring me to take food everywhere and this would make it so easy.
I never win anything and would love to be lucky this time as i have been very challenged with my new food restrictions.

    47. November 21, 2012 at 7:49 pm

I would LOVE the pink bird one! It is gorgeous! I have a Goodbyn lunchbox for my son who starts big school next year but haven’t actually used it yet- I love the little compartments in it and the little note cards to put in with messages for him. This one would be perfect for me to take to uni with that carry handle, and my daughter would be able to use it too.

The “Blue Words” Goodbyn lunchbox wins hands down for us! We would love to try one of these amazing looking Goodbyn lunchboxes as we try to make our 9 year old sons lunch boxes both visually appealing and healthy. This new system would really make light work of it. Nothing better than eating lunch out of groovy containers that all your friends envy! I follow too!

Hard choice they at all great blue beast or green monster would be great for my 6 year old to take to school. Fan of goodbyn bento has been an awesome lunch box for his prep year. Love the pink bird for my daughter who has just started eating. Decisions decisions so hard when they are all great. I guess blue or green for Mr who can hare the fab containers with his sister.

I would love the green monster for my son who starts prep next year, I know he would love it :)
I think I would love Goodbyn products as we already use containers for lunch rather than plastic, I haven’t got a lunchbox/containers for our newest school starter though. I love that they are so cute and that the containers would fit well (I’m guessing!)- a problem I have with their other lunchboxes!

The pink bird would be the pick for my soon-to-be-in-prep daughter. She has an autism spectrum disorder and until very recently we didn’t think she would be able to cope with the social environment of school at all. However, with a lot of hard work she is finally at a stage where she is comfortable in a group setting. Sending her off to school with a cool new lunchbox would be the icing on the cake really (especially as it is a ‘nude food’ school!)

      November 23, 2012 at 8:25 am

I am really impressed with the Goodbyn range. My son and I are on a quest for waste-free eating, we use containers rather than plastic wrap, don’t use plastic bags at the store (including for veges) and are slowly moving towards food with less/no packaging. I would love the green monster or blue beast insulated bag for my son to use as he starts Prep next year. Goodbyn is a fun and easy way for kids, and adults alike, to be that little bit more environmentally conscious in their day-to-day lives.

    55. Jan Almond
      November 23, 2012 at 7:23 pm

My son, already a little Green Monster, will have to be the same as his two Goodbyn sisters when he joins them at school next year. I don’t have to worry about him struggling with clips and snap, as the lunchbox lids are easy to open and seal, even for little hurried hands.
Never having to use cling wrap or other packaging this year not only saves time but even if they don’t finish all their lunch it is still as fresh as when I made it.
The compartments in the lunchboxes are a great fit for our lunches, rolls, wraps and sandwiches are kept together and nothing leaks from one section to the other. The Goodbyn ice-packs are small and after lunch on hot days are still chilled enough to keep the girls cool too.
Best of all my children are learning an environmental lesson in such a fun and cool way.
      We LOVE Goodbyn.

I would get the Blue Beast lunch bag. With my son starting school next year it would make the perfect lunch box solution. I have been looking around for a no waste, flexible system and this looks like it would tick those boxes and more.
