Our second installment in our series on reducing unnecessary mail. This step is the simplest, yet most effective way to reduce the “demand” for unsolicited advertising material.

    stop-junk-mail

Put a No Junk Mail sign on your letter box.

Go above recycling junk mail & reduce “demand” for unsolicited advertising material (left over flyers send a message & eventually mean less will be printed).

The industry body overseeing advertising material in Australia (the Distribution Standards Board) provides free-of-charge a reflective No Advertising Material sticker, on receipt of a stamped self-addressed envelope to DSB Sticker PO Box 6252 Karingal Vic 3199. These are also who you call if the sticker is ignored (1800 676 136).

Alternatively, you should be able to find one at your local hardware store.

For those who’ll miss flicking through catalogues, we have a solution in our next post on reducing unnecessary mail. Subscribe to our blog so you don’t miss a letter.

Thanks good advice. The problem is that most of the material is delivered by school kids for pocket money and they don’t understand what NO JUNK MAIL means!!
