Odour-free replacement for your air-tight, smelly compost scraps bin with benefits for you and the environment.

Your organic waste destined for the garden compost heap or rubbish bin, is kept “fresh and dry” with this hygienic and environment-friendly solution. Rather than air-tight containers or plastic bags, which produce smelly, mouldy, wet waste, the MaxAir system allows the evaporation of water.

The system consists of a small ventilated bin and 100% compostable and biodegradable BioFilm bags that “breathe”.

Set includes: an 8 litre MaxAir ventilated bin (made from recycled polypropylene) and a roll of 30 x 8 litre compostable, breathable bags (made from corn starch).
Dimensions of bin: 23.5cm x 19cm sides x 18cm high. Green basket and white lid.

08/16/2010 Jennifer M.		Love the concept and the bin worked well in my kitchen, until... the flimsy plastic hinge broke. I bought the bin only two years ago. One hinge has snapped off rendering the bin useless as the lid wont stay on and the flies get into the scraps. Not keen that such a short life means the bin is contributing to the plastic in landfill.
02/22/2010 David G.		I've successfully implemented 10 of these bins into a residential college at Charles Sturt Uni in Wagga with outstanding success. Our college is made up of cottages of 8 people who are self-catered, and some cottages fill 3 bags a week. This has been a cost effective method for use in our college to encourage students to consider that not everything needs to go into the garbage bin, but also to reduce the amount of rubbish which we do send to landfill. We have the benefit of a university composting program which takes other 'green waste' so once a week someone simply takes two wheelie bins of biobags full of food scraps to the pile. It's great!!

09/07/2005 Joanne H.		These little bins are AMAZING!!! i am a really lazy person and wait until my scraps are bursting out at the top before i take the bag to my worm farm. Sometimes this can take 2-3 weeks. It NEVER smells and the food just kind of dries up a bit and compacts. Although I have noticed that the worms arent really eating the bags.
